Karoli Ghat
An ancient mountain pass used by traders, now a favorite for high-end trekking.
Karoli Ghat is an ancient trade route through the Sahyadri mountains that connects the plateau of Samrad to the plains of Konkan. It is known for its steep and rugged terrain, making it a favorite for experienced trekkers. The route features dense forest cover and several ancient stone steps carved into the mountain side.
Trekking through Karoli Ghat provides a unique perspective on the biological diversity of the region. From the top of the ghat, one can see the massive walls of the Sahyadri range and the tiny villages of Konkan far below. It remains one of the more remote and untouched trekking routes in the Igatpuri region, offering a true "into the wild" experience.
